Description

The Rolex Cosmograph Daytona was introduced in 1963 and named after the famous racetrack at Daytona Beach, the mecca of American motorsport. It was designed as a tool for racing drivers: a chronograph with three sub-dials and a tachymeter scale on the bezel for calculating average speeds. Helped in no small part by the example owned by actor and racer Paul Newman, the Daytona grew into one of the most sought-after and valuable watches in the world. Since 2000 it has been driven by a fully in-house Rolex movement, and with its balanced proportions it has remained a timeless symbol of prestige. The Panda wears a white dial with black sub-dials and a black ceramic bezel, in steel.
